The Shifa Clinic SC

 Physician Volunteers

The medical services Shifa Clinic offers totally depend on the Healthcare professionals who have registered to serve. Without them we can not carry out the mission. Healthcare professionals are vital to the delivery of free quality services. This includes but is not limited to: Nurses, doctors, physician assistants, nurse practicioners.Volunteers can work as little as once each month or once a week.  The choice is up to you.

Clinic is covered under FTCA act for Medical Malpractice.

The Federal Tort Claims Act: Volunteer Services Provided by Health Professionals. The Free Clinic Federal Tort Claims Act (FTCA) Medical Malpractice Program is  source of federal protection for physician volunteers. A health care professional volunteering for the clinic will be “deemed” a public health service employee eligible for medical malpractice coverage under the FTCA. This provides the volunteer with immunity from medical malpractice lawsuits resulting from performance of medical, surgical, dental or related functions within the scope of the health care professional’s activity at the free clinic.

Please review the  physician application attached below and submit needed information to volunteer for the clinic.

We greatly appreciate your desire to volunteer and serve the community.
